UGATA worked with several private and public land owners to secure access to 1.4 miles of land to build a paved greenway that will connect the Village of West Greenville to Anderson Road. This land follows the rail bed that connected several textile mills to the main rail line during Greenville’s industrial heyday. Once completed, this greenway will connect three underserved neighborhoods, a YMCA community center, an elementary school, several apartment buildings, Shoeless Joe Jackson Park, and the bustling Village of West Greenville. UGATA is funding initial design and cost analysis for this project which is being performed by SeamonWhiteside.
